- 125ml creme de cacao
- 1 pot coffee (enough to serve 8)

- 2 tablespoons chocolate sprinkles (optional)

- Divide the coffee liqueur, brandy, creme de cacao and coffee between 8 coffee mugs. If you like, garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles or a dusting of cocoa powder.

We often enjoy this wonderful coffee drink on cold nights in front of the fire. Leave off the whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles and add a scoop of quality vanilla ice cream. You'll think you died and went to Heaven! Thanks Renee-20 Feb 2003

We’re chuffed to bits that it’s starting to get a bit warmer, sunnier and, dare we say it, hopeful out there at the moment. We’re sipping our steamy cappuccinos still, but definitely erring into cold brew territory when the sun dares to say hello. In the spirit of feeling a little brighter we’re getting in the mood for a coffee cocktail or two. Yes, you heard that right: your ground coffee beans pick me up don’t need to be in soft drink beverage form only! Get your coffee hit alongside the sparkle of your favourite liquor (alcoholic or non alcoholic) with our best coffee cocktail recipes. We’ll also link a few little pieces of kit which we think would make your drinks go down even smoother, and all the relevant cocktail ingredients to make your home cocktail party or cocktail bar experience even better. We’ll make sure that each one can be either an alcoholic cocktail or non alcoholic cocktail version (shortened to AlcF).
The hot beverage contains three sugar cubes, local German Asbach brandy which is heated and set alight. (I was able to find this brandy at my local liquor store.)
Strong coffee is added next, and the drink is then topped with a vanilla sugar sweetened cream and chocolate shavings. It is a hot and creamy, delicious treat!
On our excursion, I loved to see the Rüdesheimer coffees being made right in front of us. Because there was a group of us from the AmaWaterways cruise, it was even more spectacular. We watched as the waitresses prepared over 20 cups at once!

I was so taken with this exceptional coffee drink that I bought one of the special Rüdesheimer coffee cups and saucers online when I came home. When I was visiting my cousin in England, I was so excited to find another cup and saucer at an antique shop!
I cannot recommend the AmaWaterways Enchanting Rhine River cruise enough. Everything was top notch and all of the excursions, like the one into charming Rüdesheim, were all planned for us (and included in the cruise).
Here is the original recipe, along with step by step photos, for this unique coffee beverage.
– Warm the brandy by using the double boiler method or warm it in a pan (never bring to a boil!).
– Place 2-3 cubes of sugar in an original Rüdesheimer Coffee cup, pour over 4cl of the well-heated Asbach and light it by using a long match.
– Stir with a long-handled spoon to dissolve the sugar completely.
– Let it burn for about 1 minute, then pour in hot coffee to about 2 cm below the rim.
– Top off with a scoop of whipped cream and sprinkle with grated chocolate or cocoa.

Freshly Brewed Hot Espresso
Whipped cream sweetened with vanilla sugar
Grated dark chocolate
– Place 2 cubes of sugar in the original Rüdesheim Espresso cup together with 2cl of Asbach and ignite using a long match.
– Stir with a long-handled spoon to dissolve the sugar, then fill with hot espresso up to approx. 3/4 under the lip of the cup.
– Top with whipped cream and spread grated chocolate over the cream.
Rudesheimer Eiskaffe – Iced Coffee
4cl Asbach Uralt
3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
Ice-Cold coffee (sweetened to taste)
Whipped cream sweetened with vanilla sugar
Grated dark chocolate
– Place 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream in an original Rüdesheimer Coffee cup and pour over 4cl of Asbach.
– Pour in ice-cold coffee and fill up to just below the rim.
– Top with a scoop of whipped cream and sprinkle with grated chocolate.

15 Spiked Coffee Cocktails to Keep You Awake
Oh, you thought Irish Coffee was the only coffee-based drink out there? Think again.
2 oz Tullamore D.E.W. Original
1 tsp ground espresso
2 tsp demerara sugar
2 tsp hot water
3 oz cold brew coffee
Combine whiskey and espresso in a small bowl and let stand for 15 minutes. Strain through coffee filter into a cocktail shaker. Meanwhile stir sugar and hot water until dissolved then add to shaker with cold brew and ice. Shake and the strain and serve up in a Collins glass. Top with cream.

.5 shot Grand Marnier
.5 shot Kahlua
4-5 oz hot coffee
1 orange peel
.5 cup whipped cream
.5 tsp sugar
Put the whipped cream in either a bowl and whip with a whisk (electric orotherwise) or you can put it in the blender. Whip until soft peaks and then add sugar to taste.
Take your orange peel and lightly "burn" with a lighter. This will help the oils come out and will flavor the coffee later.
Pour the brandy, grand marnier, kaluha, and freshly brewed coffee in a mug. Stir with the orange peel. Spoon some whipped cream on top and enjoy right away!

.5 oz Miami Club Cuban Coffee Liqueur
.5 oz Licor 431 dash simple syrup
2 dashes Bitter Truth chocolate bitters
In a shaker, add all the ingredients, shake vigorously, then pour into a rocks glass with a large ice cube

1.5 oz Anchor Distilling Christmas Spirit
.5 oz espresso
.25 oz Tempus Fugit Spirits Crème de Cacao
.25 oz Tempus Fugit Spirits Crème de Menthe
.5 oz heavy cream
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Shake well and strain over new ice into rocks glass. Garnish with a mini candy cane.
1 oz Pierre Ferrand 1840 cognac
1 oz Luxardo Cherry Liqueur
.25 oz Cinnamon Syrup
Mix all ingredients and top with coffee, whipped cream, and powdered cinnamon.

1 oz Absolut Vodka
1 oz cream
Top with Cola
Shake the alcohol and cream with ice. Strain into a short glass with lots of ice, but make sure not to fill it to the brim. Leave some space to top it off with cola.

.5 oz Grand Marnier
.5 oz Amaro
1 oz Cold Brew
.5 oz Demerara Syrup
Combine ingredients and shake vigorously. Strain into a brandy snifter and garnish with 2-3 coffee beans.

.75 oz Meletti
.75 oz 1776 Rye
4 oz brewed coffee
In a preheated 7 oz. glass, add the Demerara syrup, Meletti, rye, and brewed coffee. Stir. For a whipped topping, lightly whip cold cream and Demerara syrup in a squeeze bottle. Float ¼-inch of cream on top of the drink with a barspoon and finish with atomized Angostura bitters.
1.5 parts Havana Club Añejo Clásico rum
.75 part cold brew
.5 part Giffard Banana Liqueur
3 drops of ginger bitters
1 drop of vanilla extract
Shake all ingredients together with ice and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a banana chip.
2 oz vanilla vodka
.5 oz cream de cocoa
1 oz Kahlúa
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
Add two ounces of vanilla vodka, half an ounce of creme de cocoa, and one ounce of Kahlúa into a shaker. Drop in about 3 ice cubes. Close the shaker and shake until the liquid is chilled.
Pour mixture into a martini glass and top it off with vanilla ice cream. Serve with a spoon and enjoy.
2.5 cups freshly brewed coffee
.5 cup heavy cream
.5 cup Kahlúa or other coffee-flavored liqueur, or to taste
.25 cup vodka, or to taste

In a saucepan stir together the coffee, the 1/2 cup cream, the Kahlúa, and the vodka and heat the mixture over moderate heat until it is hot. Divide the mixture among heated mugs and garnish each drink with some of the whipped cream.
2 oz spiced and buttered Captain Morgan's rum**
.75 oz ginger syrup
1 oz half and half
Top with black coffee
Garnish with whipped cream and a ginger snap

4 oz unsalted butter
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Place all ingredients except rum in a pot and bring to a simmer till butter is melted. Slowly stir in rum. Pour into a casserole dish and place in freezer for 35 minutes. Skim butter fat from surface. Pour through a fine mesh strainer.

What is an Alexander?
The first noteworthy point to take away about the rather vintage Alexander drink is that there are two types of classic Alexander cocktails:
The gin version was the original, first blended around 1915. The original recipe comprised equal parts gin, white creme de cocoa and cream.
Egg white, though not compulsory, is often added but a light dusting of grated nutmeg to round off this libation with a sweetly spiced aroma is more or less considered mandatory.
As the years rolled by, bartenders got experimental with other spirits and it wasn't long before the Brandy Alexander (#2) knocked the original drink off its pedestal.
The brandy riff appears to have emerged around 1937 and was originally called the Alexander #2 before the more self-explanatory term Brandy Alexander was coined.
This libation enjoyed a revival in popularity in the 1970s and remains highly regarded today. It's a true classic.
Irish Coffee Royale
I drink coffee every single day. It’s a little habit I picked up back in high school. On occasion, I like to enjoy a little booze in the morning. I can’t help that my favorite adult beverage is a great Bloody Mary Recipe! But, when I’m not in the mood for a spicy and savory drink, I love to add a little kick to my coffee.
I took a picture of my glassware to show how lonely it is. Doesn’t it look much prettier with a hefty shot of Irish cream, a hand-cut crystal glass holding some beautiful brandy, and a glass mug with some piping hot super strong coffee? I thought so.
Your typical Irish coffee is made with Irish whiskey. In order for a coffee drink to be called royale, it must be made with brandy instead. Or, so I’ve read. Just go with me on this one.
If you like your coffee screaming hot like I do, I suggest warming the brandy and Irish cream before adding it to the coffee. The sugar is totally optional – add it only if you like your coffee sweet because the Irish cream is already really sweet. But, I like my coffee like I like my men – hot, sweet, and strong.
Making Coffee Liqueur with Instant Coffee
Dissolve the brown sugar in a pan with hot water. Add instant coffee and mix well. Let it cool down. Pour coffee into a jar. Add the pure vanilla extract and vodka. Stir well.
If you prefer to use vanilla bean instead of vanilla extract, split one bean lengthwise and add it to the coffee. Remove the vanilla bean after four weeks.
