- 450g spicy pork sausages, casings removed
- 450g ready-made cheese sauce
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 900g German rye bread, cut into 4cm squares

- Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
- In a large frying pan, brown the beef and sausagemeat together. Drain off all the fat.
- Over low heat, add the cheese and the oregano into the meat in the frying pan. When everything is well incorporated, spread the mixture on rye bread. Arrange the pieces on baking trays.
- Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 5 to 10 minutes, until just browned.

I made these with some leftover Italian sausage and ground beef mixture I had from a lasangne. I used melted Veleveeta and left out the oregano. They were good but needed the oregano to give it a little more zip than just the meat and cheese. The cocktail rye is perfect to add a slightly sweet contrast of flavor, this gives it a little elegance and avoids the similarity to the miniature pizza type appetizer.-31 Aug 2002

These were really good and different. I made them for a super bowl party and they were a hit. They do need to be served while warm, because they get chewy and not too appetizing as they cool down. I would make these again.-10 Mar 2001
I halved the recipe and other than added a dash of garlic powder - I didn't change a thing BUT no one in my house liked these. I'm giving this a 2-star b/c they were still ediable. The oregano was too overpowering and everyone thought these tasted "weird." I really wanted to be the minority in my family and like these - but sadly, I had to agree w/ them. Cheesy garlic and brown sugar pork chops are a simple pork chops recipe cooked in the oven in under 30 minutes for an easy weeknight meal. The only thing that may have made these cheesy garlic and brown sugar pork chops better is a splash of bourbon. Inspired by the garlic brown sugar chicken recipe I make, these pork chops were a delicious and easy pork chop recipe.
These pork chops bake in 30 minutes or less making it a great recipe for a busy weeknight.
What’s the best way to cook corned beef?
There are so many ways to cook corned beef, so I’m not sure any one of them is “the best”, but here are some tips to make yours turn out great. I personally prefer using a slow cooker or pressure cooker for corned beef or corned venison.
- Rinse the corned beef before cooking. The rinsing is very important for reducing the salt content.
- Add some Irish beer. Guinness or a good stout is a great choice, but I’ve also used red ales or brown ales, and, sometimes, in a pinch, a lager. If you’re not into beer, wine is also a good flavor enhancer.
- AND water. Many times if I’m slow cooking or pressure cooking a roast, just a cup of liquid or one beer is all I use. But with corned beef, water helps pull some of that extra salt out of the meat so it’s not overly salty.
- If there’s a flavoring packet, add that, but then also include some aromatics such as garlic, onion, 1 -2 bay leaves, mustard seed, cloves and peppercorns. Carrots are good for adding a hint of sweetness. I like to make a bed of garlic, onion and carrots, add the seasonings, then put the meat on top.
How long to cook corned beef in the slow cooker or pressure cooker?
If using a slow cooker, I prefer low and slow. Cook for 8 hours on low, then unplug and let sit for at least 20 minutes for the meat to re-absorb the juices.
Pressure cookers are a much quicker method. For a 2-lb. piece of meat, cook on high pressure for 70 minutes, let the pressure naturally release for at least 15 minutes, then unplug and let sit in the juices for at least 20 more minutes. A 3-lb. corned beef roast will take 90 minutes in the Instant Pot.
This time, I used my Instant Pot, added one Guinness beer + 3 cups of water over a bed of garlic, onion and carrot, with bay leaves, peppercorns, mustard seed and a few cloves on my corned venison and it turned out absolutely fall-apart tender, juicy and SO flavorful.
The recommended cooking temperature for pork is 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperature and length of cooking are very important if you want juicy and tender meat. Since pork chop is very lean, it’s prone to overcooking. It’s best to check the doneness of your meat to also ensure great flavor and that it’s safe to eat. When cooking meat, be sure to check the recommended cooking temperature for that type of meat and to let it rest for at least 3 minutes after cooking.

This Cheesy Beef and Orzo Casserole is an easy, filling dinner recipe that even the kids will love! Made with ground beef, orzo pasta, and lots of cheesy goodness, what's not to love?!
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz orzo
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large yellow onion, chopped
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 1 (16 oz) can petite diced tomatoes drained
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 4 oz can chopped olives
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese, divided
- salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- cayenne pepper, to taste
- fresh mini buffalo mozzarella, sliced in half, to top
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 casserole pan, set aside.
Salt and pepper ground beef to taste. In a large pan, brown beef, drain and set aside. Cook orzo according to directions. Drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic, onions and celery, sauté until tender.
Add flour to mixture and stir until combined, cooking for 1 minute. Add tomatoes, oregano, beef broth and olives. Bring mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.
Add beef, orzo and 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella and 1/2 cup shredded provolone, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper to pot. Stir until combined and cheese melted.
Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Top casserole with remaining shredded mozzarella, provolone and fresh mozzarella cheeses during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
How to make these cheesy crispy baked potato bites?
The recipe starts with parboiling the potatoes, this prepares them to be loaded with bacon and cheddar cheese and then baked in the oven until fully cooked and the cheese is melted.
By parboiling, you really speed up the process of cooking the potatoes.
You can cut the potatoes in half and just roast them, but it takes longer and I prefer boiling them first, then baking for a few minutes.
Then I cut them in half, scooped out a little bit of the inside, so I can add the bacon and cheese.
The method is perfect for days when you are short on time (this happens often with me), but want to prepare something tasty and fun looking.

Steps to make Cheesy Garlic Zucchini Bites
Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet
Preheat the oven to 400 °F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine all ingredients
In a large bowl, mix together 2 cups shredded and patted dry zucchini, 1 ¼ cups panko bread crumbs, 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, 1 large egg, ½ a cup finely chopped green onion, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill, 1 teaspoon kosher salt and 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
Using your hands, scoop out one tablespoon of the zucchini mixture at a time and roll into 30 separate balls and arrange on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or until browned and crisp, flipping once halfway through.
Serve warm with ranch dipping sauce and enjoy!

One thing I love love love in life is summer grilling and relaxed family time (as opposed to the busy busy of spring, winter, and fall). When school is out, Little League is over, the karate tournaments are done, my volunteer groups take a break …I cannot wait until life slows down, even if just for a couple weeks. …When we have time to make recipes that take just a little extra love …like smoking up some pork balls.
I made these back when we first got our smoker last year, then we proceeded to inhale them all. They were glorious. The smoked flavor combined with the creamy spicy cheese was a perfect match. This recipe is easy, as I always say ?. We mix up out pork, sausage, some jalapeno, and some seasoning. Then we roll ’em into balls, then stuff a nice cube of cheese in the center. Finally, we smoke them a bit until done and just about one of the most addictive things ever. If you don’t have a smoker, you can easily make one using foil to fabricate a pouch for the chips and cook on your grill. Or alternatively, add a teensy touch of liquid smoke to the meat mixture, then just bake.
Because let’s be honest, it is all about the cheesy center, right?
So that’s it folks. I am throwing you this one for Memorial Day. And all the other occasions. Because sometimes food like this is totally called for, so we can come out the rockstar. ?
Cheesy pork and beef bites recipe - Recipes
1 lb. hamburger
2 onions, diced small
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 cup frozen peas or corn
1 cup cooked rice
1 cup chicken broth
2 cups shredded cheese, divided in half
1 cup sour cream (I used light)
salt, pepper, oregano etc.
1. Preheat oven to 350℉. In skillet roast onions for a few minutes. Add ground beef and garlic powder and cook until no longer pink. Add salt, pepper, and oregano or whatever spices you like.
2. Add tomato sauce, peas or corn, cooked rice, chicken broth and one cup of cheese and let simmer for 3 minutes.
3. Transfer to a greased casserole dish and bake for 15 minutes. While baking combine the sour cream and left over 1 cup of cheese. Remove casserole from oven and cover with sour cream and cheese mixture. Return to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

Another great thing about this recipe, besides it being, quick, one pot and delicious, is the fact that it’s quite versatile. Although I give you a basic recipe here, feel free to add what you’d like to bulk it up a bit!
This dish would taste amazing with a bit of chicken, bacon, or pancetta.
You don’t just have just use orzo, you can use some other starches if you’d like! I’m just obsessed with orzo lately, because you know what, it only takes about 6 minutes to cook!
